Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13103

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Love your friend in moderation, for perhaps one day he may become the object of your displeasure; and keep your displeasure in moderation too, for perhaps one day he (the enemy) may become your friend."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains Jamil bin Zayd, who is da'if (weak).
