Majma al-Zawaid 13104 — Love your beloved moderately

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Love your friend in moderation, for perhaps one day he may become your enemy; and keep your enmity towards your enemy in moderation, for perhaps one day he may become your friend."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Kathir al-Fihri, who is da'if (weak).
