بَابٌ فِيمَنِ افْتَخَرَ بِأَهْلِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ

Majma al-Zawaid 13089 — One who boasts of the people of Jahiliyyah
وَعَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " كُلُّكُمْ بَنُو آدَمَ ، وَآدَمُ مِنْ تُرَابٍ ، لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ قَوْمٌ يَفْخَرُونَ بِآبَائِهِمْ ، أَوْ لَيَكُونُنَّ أَهْوَنُ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنَ الْجِعْلَانِ " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْعُرَنِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "All of you are the children of Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him), and Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) was created from dust. People will either desist from boasting about their forefathers, or they will be more worthless in the sight of Allah Almighty than the ju'lan (a kind of insect or bird)."
