Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13059

Sayyiduna al-Nawwas bin Sam'an (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every lie is recorded against a human being, except three kinds: a man who speaks untruthfully in war, for war is deception; a man who lies to a woman (that is, his wife) to please her; and a man who lies between two men to make peace between them."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Jami' al-Attar, and he is da'if (weak). Hadiths on this have already preceded in the chapter on reconciliation in the Book of Rulings.
