عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَسَبَّ رَجُلٌ رَجُلًا عِنْدَهُ ، فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ الْمَسْبُوبُ يَقُولُ : عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ - قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - :
" أَمَا إِنَّ مَلَكًا يَذُبُّ عَنْكَ ، كُلَّمَا شَتَمَكَ هَذَا قَالَ لَهُ : بَلْ أَنْتَ ، وَأَنْتَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ ، فِإِذَا قَالَ لَهُ : وَعَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ قَالَ : لَا بَلْ أَنْتَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ " . .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ الْوَالِبِيِّ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .

رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ الْوَالِبِيِّ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyiduna al-Nu'man bin Muqarrin al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a man reviled another man, and the man who was reviled began to say: "Peace be upon you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There was an angel between the two of you, warding off from you everything he was saying against you, and the angel was saying to him: 'Rather, you are like that, and you are more deserving of it.' And when you said to him in reply, 'Peace be upon you,' the angel said: 'No, rather you are more deserving of it.'"
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abu Khalid, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
