Sayyiduna Hakim bin Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) states that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! With what has our Lord sent you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (With this:) that you worship Allah Almighty and do not associate anyone with Him as a partner, that you establish prayer and pay zakah. Every Muslim (that is, his life and wealth) is sacred (haram) to every other Muslim. O Hakim bin Mu'awiyah! This is your religion; wherever you are, it will protect you.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, al-Safr bin Nusayr, who is da'if (weak), and I think his narration from Hakim is mursal (with a gap in the chain). And Allah knows best.
