Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12976

Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Do not turn your backs on one another, do not cut one another off, and be servants of Allah and brothers (or: O servants of Allah, be brothers). The estrangement of believers is three days: if the two of them speak to each other, well and good; otherwise Allah Almighty turns away from both of them until they speak to each other."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: This narration is reported in the "Sahih" in abridged form.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Abdullah bin Abd al-Aziz al-Laythi, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) while others declared him da'if (weak). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
