Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12906

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you sneezes and says 'Alhamdulillah', the angels say: 'Rabbil-'alamin' (i.e. all praise belongs to Allah, who is the Lord of all the worlds). And when the servant also adds 'Rabbil-'alamin', the angels say: 'May Allah Almighty have mercy on you.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Ata' bin al-Sa'ib, whose memory had become confused (ikhtilat).
