وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : عَطَسَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَقَالَ : مَا أَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " قُلِ : الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ " . قَالُوا : مَا نَقُولُ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " قُولُوا : يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ " . قَالَ : مَا أَقُولُ لَهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " قُلْ لَهُمْ : يَهْدِيكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَكُمْ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَفِيهِ أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ نَجِيحٌ وَهُوَ لَيِّنُ الْحَدِيثِ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَفِيهِ أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ نَجِيحٌ وَهُوَ لَيِّنُ الْحَدِيثِ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: A man sneezed in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what should I say?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say: Alhamdulillah (All praise is for Allah)." The people asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what should we say to him?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say to him: May Allah Almighty have mercy on you." That man asked: "O Messenger of Allah, then what should I say to them?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say to them: May Allah Almighty keep you firm upon guidance and set your affairs right."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains Abu Ma'shar Najih, who is weak in hadith. The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
