It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say to us: "In the Scriptures, the name of the believing man is al-karm (the noble one), because Allah Almighty has honored him. You people call the grapes in the garden karm; beware, its name is al-hafr, and it is the man who is al-karm."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and al-Bazzar recorded something similar, except that he narrated these words: "You people call the grape 'inab, whereas its name is al-jawhar." Al-Tabarani's chain contains unknown (majhul) narrators, and al-Bazzar's chain contains Yusuf bin Khalid al-Samti, who is matruk (abandoned).
