Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12860

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man saying to another man: What is your name? The other replied: Shihab. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You are Hisham.
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded something similar in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Imran al-Qattan, whom Ibn Hibban and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), and there is weakness in him. The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
