بَابٌ فِيمَنْ بَخِلَ بِالسَّلَامِ
One who is miserly with the greeting of peace

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - :
" أَعْجَزُ النَّاسِ مَنْ عَجَزَ فِي الدُّعَاءِ ، وَأَبْخَلُ النَّاسِ مَنْ بَخِلَ بِالسَّلَامِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَقَالَ : لَا يُرْوَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِلَّا بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ مَسْرُوقِ ابْنِ الْمَرْزُبَانِ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most incapable of people is the one who is incapable of making supplication, and the most miserly of people is the one who is miserly with the greeting of salam."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. He said: It is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) only with this chain. Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Masruq bin al-Marzuban, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
