وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا عَائِشَةُ لَوْ كَانَ الْحَيَاءُ رَجُلًا كَانَ رَجُلًا صَالِحًا [ وَلَوْ كَانَ الْبُذَاءُ رَجُلًا لَكَانَ رَجُلَ سُوءٍ ] " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَهُوَ لَيِّنٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Aishah! If modesty were in the form of a human being, it would be a righteous man; and if shamelessness were in the form of a human being, it would be an evil man."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, who is weak. The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
