Majma al-Zawaid 12615 — Respecting the elderly and showing mercy
وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يُجِلَّ كَبِيرَنَا ، وَيَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَفِيهِ عُفَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ جِدًّا .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is not of us who does not honour our elder and does not show kindness to our young."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Ufayr bin Ma'dan, who is extremely da'if (weak).
