Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12531

Sayyidah Asma bint Umays (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her house for some purpose, then he left. Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of hunger, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What will your condition be when you are tested by a servant for whom the rivers of the earth and the fruits of the earth will be subjected? Whoever follows him, he will give him food and make him a disbeliever; and whoever disobeys him, he will deprive him and withhold from him." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! The slave girl sits by the oven for a while to bake bread, and in that time (because of the intensity of hunger) I am tested in my prayer. So when such a situation arises, what will become of us?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "At that time Allah Almighty will protect the believers by that through which the angels are protected, and that is tasbih (glorification). Between the Dajjal's two eyes will be written 'Kafir' (disbeliever), which every believer will be able to read, whether he is literate or not."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator who has not been named. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
