وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَنَّةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " لِيَأْرِزَنَّ الْإِسْلَامُ بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ كَمَا تَأْرِزُ الْحَيَّةُ إِلَى جُحْرِهَا ، فَبَيْنَمَا هُمْ كَذَلِكَ إِذِ اشْتَعَلَتْ نَارُ الْعَرَبِ بِأَعْرَابِهَا ، فَيَخْرُجُ كَالصَّالِحِ مِمَّنْ مَضَى وَخَيْرُ مَنْ بَقِيَ حَتَّى يَلْتَقُونَ هُمْ وَالرُّومُ فَيَقْتَتِلُونَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Sannah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Islam will retreat to the area between Makkah and Madinah, just as a snake retreats to its hole. While they are in that state, the fire of the Arabs will flare up, and then every righteous person like those who have passed will come forth, and every best person of those who remain will come forth, until they and the Romans meet and fight one another."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Farwah, who is matruk (abandoned).
