بَابٌ فِيمَنْ لَمْ يُحْسِنِ الْوُضُوءَ .
One who does not perform ablution well

وَعَنْ أَبِي رُوحٍ الْكَلَاعِيِّ قَالَ : صَلَّى بِنَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - صَلَاةً فَقَرَأَ فِيهَا سُورَةَ الرُّومِ ، فَلُبِّسَ بَعْضُهَا فَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا لَبَّسَ عَلَيْنَا الشَّيْطَانُ الْقِرَاءَةَ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَقْوَامٍ يَأْتُونَ الصَّلَاةَ بِغَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ ، فَإِذَا أَتَيْتُمِ الصَّلَاةَ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْوُضُوءَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْحٍ نَفْسِهِ ، وَرَوَاهُ النَّسَائِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْحٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْحٍ نَفْسِهِ ، وَرَوَاهُ النَّسَائِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْحٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Rawh al-Kala'i narrates: The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in a prayer and recited Surah al-Rum in it, and at one place he became confused (in the recitation). (After finishing the prayer) he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Satan causes confusion for us in the recitation because of some people who come to the prayer without (properly completed) ablution. When you come to the prayer, perform ablution well.
Ahmad recorded it from Sayyiduna Abu Rawh (may Allah be pleased with him), and Imam al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) recorded it from Abu Rawh, from a man. The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.
