Abu al-Aswad al-Dili narrates: Zur'ah bin Damrah and I accepted Islam along with al-Ash'ari. We met Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him). The narrator says: I sat on his right and Zur'ah sat on his left. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Soon no one of the non-Arabs will remain in the land of the Arabs except one who is killed or a captive whose blood is to be judged." Zur'ah bin Damrah said to him: Will the polytheists overpower the people of Islam? He asked: Whom are you from? He said: From the Banu Amir bin Sa'sa'ah, who built Dhu al-Khalasah; that house or building was given this name in the Days of Ignorance. The narrator says: I mentioned the statement of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) before Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said three times: Abdullah bin Amr knows better what he is saying. The narrator says: Then on Friday he delivered a sermon and said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "A group of my Ummah will continue upon the truth, being helped, until the command of Allah comes." The narrator says: We mentioned the statement of Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) before Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke the truth; when that situation comes about, then what I said will happen.
Abu Ya'la recorded it from his teacher Abu Sa'id; if he is the mawla (client) of the Banu Hashim, then its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
