Majma al-Zawaid 12389 — The trial of Mudar
عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ هَذَا الْحَيَّ مِنْ مُضَرَ لَا تَدَعُ لِلَّهِ عَبْدًا صَالِحًا إِلَّا فَتَنَتْهُ وَأَهْلَكَتْهُ ، حَتَّى يُدْرِكَهَا اللَّهُ بِجُنُودٍ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ فَيُذِلُّهَا حَتَّى لَا يمْنَعَ ذَنَبَ تَلْعَةٍ " .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The tribe of Mudar will not leave any righteous servant of Allah Almighty except that it will subject him to trial and destruction, until Allah Almighty sends against them armies from His presence and humiliates them, to the extent that they will not (be able to) defend even the low end of a valley."
