Hujayr narrates this statement from his father, whose kunyah was Abu al-Muntafiq. He states: I came to Makkah and asked about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The people told me that he (peace and blessings be upon him) was at Arafah. I came and drew near to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), until the neck of my she-camel began to touch the neck of the she-camel of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me of that which will save me from the punishment of Allah and admit me into Paradise. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Worship Allah! Do not associate anyone with Him as a partner; perform the obligatory prayer, pay the obligatory zakah, perform Hajj and Umrah, fast in Ramadan, and consider: whatever you like people to do to you, do the same to people; and whatever you dislike people doing to you, do not do that to people.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, "Hujayr", who is the son of a Companion, but I have not seen anyone mention him.
