Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that she heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A time will surely come upon people in which the truthful will be called a liar and the liar will be believed, in which the trustworthy will be deemed treacherous and the treacherous will be made trustworthy; a man will give testimony though his testimony was not sought, and a man will swear an oath though no oath was asked of him; and the most fortunate of people in the world (that is, the one of highest standing in worldly terms) will be a person who is himself a fool and the child of a fool, who does not believe in Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Abdullah bin Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, and he is da'if (weak), though he has been declared thiqah (trustworthy).
