بَابٌ فِي أَيَّامِ الصَّبْرِ وَفِيمَنْ يَتَمَسَّكُ بِدِينِهِ فِي الْفِتَنِ .

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ مِنْ وَرَائِكُمْ أَيَّامَ الصَّبْرِ ، الصَّبْرُ فِيهِنَّ كَقَبْضٍ عَلَى الْجَمْرِ ، لِلْعَامِلِ فِيهَا أَجْرُ خَمْسِينَ " . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَجْرُ خَمْسِينَ مِنْهُمْ أَوْ خَمْسِينَ مِنَّا ؟ قَالَ : " خَمْسِينَ مِنْكُمْ " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِنَحْوِهِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لِلْمُتَمَسِّكِ أَجْرُ خَمْسِينَ شَهِيدًا " . فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مِنَّا أَوْ مِنْهُمْ ؟ قَالَ : " مِنْكُمْ " ، وَرِجَالُ الْبَزَّارِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، غَيْرُ سَهْلِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "After you there will come days of patience; patience in them will be like holding an ember in the hand, and the one who does (good) deeds in those days will receive the reward of fifty people. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! The reward of fifty of them, or of fifty of us? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (The reward) of fifty of you."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded something similar, though he recorded the wording: "The one who holds firmly will have the reward of fifty martyrs. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Will they (the martyrs) be from us, or from them? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: From you."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Sahl bin Amir al-Bajali, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy).
