وَعَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : وَضَأَّتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ تَحْتَ حَنَكِهِ فَخَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : مَا هَذَا ؟ فَقَالَ : " بِهَذَا أَمَرَنِي رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ وُثِّقُوا .

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I helped the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ablution, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) put his hand underneath (his beard) and ran his fingers through his beard. I asked: What is this? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My Lord has commanded me to do this.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
