Book of Tribulations (may Allah protect us from them)
بَابٌ فِيمَا كَانَ بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَالسُّكُوتِ عَمَّا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ .
What occurred between the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and keeping silent about their disputes

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أُمَّتِي أُمَّةٌ مَرْحُومَةٌ ، قَدْ رُفِعَ عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابُ إِلَّا عَذَابَهُمْ أَنْفُسَهُمْ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْأُمَوِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَوَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ وَقَالَ : يُخْطِئُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْأُمَوِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَوَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ وَقَالَ : يُخْطِئُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "My Ummah is an Ummah shown mercy; punishment has been lifted from them, except that their punishment will be at their own hands."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Sa'id bin Maslamah al-Umawi, who is da'if (weak), and Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy), saying: "He makes mistakes"; the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
