وَعَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ [ السَّاعِدِيِّ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ] قَالَ : " مَا كَانَتْ زَنْدَقَةٌ إِلَّا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ التَّكْذِيبِ بِالْقَدَرِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whenever there is heresy (zandaqah), it is preceded by the denial of destiny (qadar)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ibrahim bin A'yan, who is da'if (weak).
