It is narrated from him that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah Almighty intends to take the soul of a servant in a certain land, He creates some need for that servant in that region, and eventually the servant reaches that region." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse found at the end of Surah Luqman: "Indeed, the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah alone; He sends down the rain, and He knows what is in the wombs." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this whole verse, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These are the keys of the Unseen, which none knows except Allah Almighty."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Abbad bin Suhayb, who is matruk (abandoned) and has been accused of fabricating hadith; Abu Dawud declared him thiqah (trustworthy).
