Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11829

Sayyiduna Abu Urwah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah Almighty intends to take the soul of a servant in a certain land, He sends him to that region for some need, and when the man reaches his particular destination, He takes his soul."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tirmidhi recorded it in abridged form; its chain contains Muhammad bin Musa al-Harashi, who is thiqah (trustworthy), and there is disagreement about him.
