وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَوَّلَ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ اللَّهُ الْقَلَمُ ، وَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَكْتُبَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ " ، رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first thing Allah Almighty created was the pen, and Allah Almighty commanded it to write down everything."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
