Yazid bin al-Bara' bin Azib, who was the governor of Oman and was one of the best of governors, narrates: My father said: Gather together, so that I may show you how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ablution and how he used to pray, for I do not know how much longer I will remain with you. The narrator says: Then he gathered his children and family and called for water for ablution. He rinsed his mouth, put water into his nose, washed his face three times, washed his right arm three times, and washed this one three times, meaning the left arm. Then he wiped his head and the inner and outer parts of his ears. Then he washed this one, meaning the right foot, three times, then this one, meaning the left foot, three times. Then he said: I have spared no effort in showing you how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ablution.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
