Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11627

Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) transmits this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "If this Qur'an were placed in a hide and then thrown into the fire, it would not burn."
Ahmad, Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, about whom there is disagreement. Some of the narrators of Abu Ya'la explained it thus: what is meant is that whoever acquires knowledge of the Qur'an and still enters Hell is worse than a pig.
