Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Prayer without ablution, and charity from unlawful wealth, are not accepted."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Kathir bin Zayd al-Aslami, whom Ibn Hibban, and Yahya bin Ma'in according to one report, declared thiqah (trustworthy). Abu Zur'ah said: He is saduq (truthful), but there is some weakness in him. Al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) declared him da'if (weak), and Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Ammar al-Mawsili said: He is thiqah (trustworthy).
