Majma al-Zawaid 1152 — The obligation of ablution

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allah Almighty does not accept prayer without ablution, nor charity (given) from unlawful wealth."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Abbad bin Ahmad al-Arzami, who is matruk (abandoned).
