In one narration it is reported from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has commanded me to recite the Qur'an to you." Then the narrator mentioned the narration as before, and in it are these words: "If a human being asked for a valley of wealth and it were given to him, he would ask for a second; and if the second were given to him, he would ask for a third." The rest of the narration is as before. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Part of it is reported in al-Tirmidhi, and a portion of it is reported in the "Sahih".
Ahmad and his son recorded it; its chain contains Asim bin Bahdalah, whom some declared thiqah (trustworthy) and others declared da'if (weak); the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
