وَعَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ فِي قَوْلِهِ - تَعَالَى - وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ قَالَ : الشَّاهِدُ جَدِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَالْمَشْهُودُ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ . ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَتَلَا ذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَجْمُوعٌ لَهُ النَّاسُ وَذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَشْهُودٌ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحِمَّانِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Imam Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates concerning this saying of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty says: "By the witness and that which is witnessed." Sayyiduna Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "'The witness' (shahid) is my grandfather, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and 'that which is witnessed' (mashhud) is the Day of Resurrection." Then he recited this verse: "Indeed, We have sent you as a witness (shahid), a bearer of glad tidings and a warner." And he recited this verse: "That is a Day on which mankind will be gathered, and that is a Day witnessed (mashhud)."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Yahya bin Abd al-Hamid al-Himmani, who is da'if (weak).
