قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : كَادُوا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا .

عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ وَغَيْرِهِ نَفَرًا مِنَ الْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقُرْآنَ قَالَ : بِنَخْلَةَ ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يُصَلِّي الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ كَادُوا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا . قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : اللِّبَدُ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ [ كاللِّبَدِ بَعْضُهُ عَلَى بَعْضِهِ ] . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Ikrimah and others relate: "A group of the jinn listened attentively to the Qur'an." Ikrimah relates: This happened at Nakhlah (a place), while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing the Isha prayer. "They almost became crowded around him." Sufyan says: The word "libad" means that they pressed against one another, just as the layers of felt (libd) press one upon another.
