Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11440

Al-Qasim and al-Hasan bin Sa'd relate: It was said to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): Allah Almighty has mentioned prayer frequently in the Qur'an, and He has said: "Those who are constant in their prayer" and "Those who guard their prayers." Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This means that they perform them at their appointed times. The people said: We used to think it meant that they abandon it. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Abandoning it is disbelief.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; al-Hasan bin Sa'd and al-Qasim did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
