Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11439

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) relates (Allah Almighty says): "The Day the sky will be like molten lead." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: Like the dregs of olive oil. And regarding the statement of Allah Almighty: "Ana'a al-layl (the hours of the night)", Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: It refers to the middle part of the night.
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Qabus bin Abi Zabyan, whom Yahya bin Ma'in and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), while al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) and others declared him da'if (weak). The remaining narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.
