Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11438

Yazid bin Amir al-Suwa'i relates: Once they were circumambulating al-Taghiyah (the idol) when they heard someone speaking, saying: "And if he had attributed to Us some false sayings, We would have seized him by the right hand, then We would have cut his aorta." We were alarmed by this and said: What is this speech that we do not recognise? Then we looked, and it was the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who was walking away.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, al-Sa'ib bin Yasar al-Ta'ifi, whom I do not know. The remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
