29 - 59 - سُورَةُ الْمُمْتَحَنَةِ قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : لَا يَنْهَاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَنِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ .
Surah al-Mumtahanah, and the words of Allah the Exalted: "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion"

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ : قَدِمَتْ قُتَيْلَةُ ابْنَةُ الْعُزَّى بْنِ عَبْدِ أَسْعَدَ مِنْ بَنِي مَالِكِ بْنِ حَسَلٍ عَلَى ابْنَتِهَا أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ بِهَدَايَا ضِبَابٍ وَأَقِطٍ وَسَمْنٍ ، وَهِيَ مُشْرِكَةٌ ، فَأَبَتْ أَسْمَاءُ أَنْ تَقْبَلَ هَدِيَّتَهَا وَتُدْخِلَهَا بَيْتَهَا ، فَسَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةُ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - لَا يَنْهَاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَنِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ ، فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَقْبَلَ هَدِيَّتَهَا وَتُدْخِلَهَا بَيْتَهَا .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ مُصْعَبُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ مُصْعَبُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) relates: Qutaylah bint al-Uzza bin Abd As'ad, who was from Banu Malik bin Hisl, came to her daughter Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both) with gifts, among which were lizards, cheese and ghee; she was a polytheist. Sayyidah Asma' (may Allah be pleased with her) refused to accept her gifts or to let her enter her house. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this, and Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "Allah Almighty does not forbid you regarding those who have not fought you because of religion." This is to the end of the verse. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded Sayyidah Asma' (may Allah be pleased with her) to accept that woman's gifts and to let her come into her house.
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Mus'ab bin Thabit, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) and a group declared da'if (weak). The remaining narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.
