Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11372

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated concerning this statement of Allah Almighty (Allah Almighty says): "And he was at a distance of two bow-lengths, or even nearer." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The word "qab" means a qayd (that is, a shackle), and "qawsayn" means the two forearms.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains the narrator Asim bin Bahdalah, who is da'if (weak), and his hadith has been graded hasan.
