Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11366

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah Almighty sent upon the people of Ad that wind by which they were destroyed, only as much of it was opened as the space of a ring. It passed by the desert people and lifted their animals and their possessions between the earth and the sky. When the town people saw that wind, they said: 'This is a cloud that will bring us rain.' Then that wind threw the desert people and their animals down upon the town people."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains the narrator Muslim al-Mula'i, who is da'if (weak).
