Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11320

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates concerning this saying of Allah Almighty: (Allah Almighty says:) "Our Lord! You caused us to die twice and You gave us life twice." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This is like the verse in Surah al-Baqarah: "You were dead, and He gave you life; then He will cause you to die, then He will give you life, then to Him you will be returned."
Al-Tabarani recorded it from Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam, who is da'if (weak).
