قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ آذَوْا مُوسَى فَبَرَّأَهُ اللَّهُ .
The words of Allah the Exalted: "O you who believe, do not be like those who abused Musa, then Allah cleared him"

عَنْ أَنَسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " كَانَ مُوسَى رَجُلًا حَيِيًّا ، وَإِنَّهُ أَتَى - أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ : الْمَاءَ - لِيَغْتَسِلَ ، فَوَضَعَ ثِيَابَهُ عَلَى صَخْرَةٍ وَكَانَ لَا يَكَادُ تَبْدُو عَوْرَتُهُ ، فَقَالَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ : إِنْ مُوسَى آدَرُ وَبِهِ آفَةٌ ، يَعْنُونَ أَنَّهُ لَا يَضَعُ ثِيَابَهُ ، فَاحْتَمَلَتِ الصَّخْرَةُ ثِيَابَهُ حَتَّى صَارَتْ بِحِذَاءِ مَجَالِسِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، فَنَظَرُوا إِلَى مُوسَى - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَأَحْسَنِ الرِّجَالِ " . أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ : ( فَبَرَّأَهُ اللَّهُ مِمَّا قَالُوا وَكَانَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَجِيهًا ) . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ سَيِّئُ الْحِفْظِ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) was a modest man. He came to some water to bathe in it and placed his clothes (after taking them off) on a rock; he would never let his private parts be exposed. The people of the Children of Israel used to say that Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) had swollen testicles and that he suffered from an ailment; they meant that this was why Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) did not take off his clothes. That rock took up the clothes of Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) and moved until it came opposite the sitting places of the Children of Israel, and the people saw Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him), that he was the most handsome of men" - or however the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said it. This is what is meant by the statement of Allah Almighty: "So Allah Almighty cleared him (that is, Musa) of what they said, and he was honourable in the sight of Allah Almighty."
