عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِي قَوْلِهِ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ قَالَ : الزِّينَةُ السِّوَارُ وَالدُّمْلُجُ وَالْخَلْخَالُ وَالْقُرْطُ وَالْأُذُنُ وَالْقِلَادَةُ وَمَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا عَلَى الثِّيَابِ وَالْجِلْبِيبِ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِأَسَانِيدَ مُطَوِّلًا وَمُخْتَصِرًا وَرِجَالُ أَحَدِهَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), regarding this statement of Allah Almighty, said: (Allah Almighty says:) "And let them not display their adornment." Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Adornment means the bracelet, the armlet (dumluj, a bracelet-like ornament), the anklet, the earring, the ear ornament (udhn), the necklace, and whatever else appears over the clothes and the outer cloak.
Al-Tabarani recorded it with several chains, in both lengthy and abridged forms; the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih.
