Majma al-Zawaid 11208 — The tafsir of the story of the slander
وَعَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ : يَعِظُكُمُ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَعُودُوا لِمِثْلِهِ أَبَدًا قَالَ : يَنْهَاكُمْ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Mujahid, regarding this statement of Allah Almighty, said: (Allah Almighty says:) "Allah Almighty admonishes you never to return to the like of it." (Mujahid said:) This means that Allah Almighty forbids you (from this).
