قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : لَمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى .

عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ : اخْتَلَفَ رَجُلَانِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِي أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى ، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا : هُوَ مَسْجِدُ الرَّسُولِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ : هُوَ مَسْجِدُ قُبَاءٍ . فَأَتَيَا النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ، فَسَأَلَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : " هُوَ مَسْجِدِي هَذَا .
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), two men differed about the mosque whose foundation was laid on piety (and which is mentioned in the Qur'an). One of the two said that it meant the Prophet's Mosque, and the other said that it meant the Mosque of Quba. Both of them came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him about it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It means this mosque of mine."
