Al-Hasan al-Basri narrates: I met Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), and I asked them both about the interpretation of this verse: (Allah Almighty says:) "And pleasant dwellings in the Gardens of Eden." They both replied: "You have come to one well informed about it. We asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about it, and he said: 'It is a palace of pearl; in that palace there are seventy thousand houses of green emerald. In every house there are seventy couches, on every couch there are seventy beddings of every colour, and on every bedding there is a wife from the wide-eyed houris. In every house there is a dining spread, and on every spread there are seventy kinds of food. In every house there are seventy servants, male or female. And (the dweller of Paradise) will be given the strength to enjoy all of it in a single morning.'"
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it, and Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Jisr bin Farqad, who is da'if (weak), though Sa'id bin Amir declared him thiqah (trustworthy); the rest of al-Tabarani's narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
