قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : وَأُولُو الْأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَى بِبَعْضٍ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ .

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - آخَى بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ ، فَجَعَلُوا يَتَوَارَثُونَ بِذَلِكَ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ وَأُولُو الْأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَى بِبَعْضٍ فَتَوَارَثُوا بِالنَّسَبِ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Formerly the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had established brotherhood between his Companions, and on that basis they used to inherit from one another, until this verse was revealed: "And blood relatives are more entitled to one another." Then they began to inherit from one another on the basis of lineage.
