قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى :( وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ الَّذِي آتَيْنَاهُ آيَاتِنَا ) .
The saying of Allah the Exalted: "And recite to them the news of him to whom We gave Our signs"
Majma al-Zawaid 11022 — The saying of Allah the Exalted: "And recite"
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍ[وَ] قَالَ : نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِي أُمِّيَّةَ بْنِ أَبِي السَّلْطِ الَّذِي آتَيْنَاهُ آيَاتِنَا فَانْسَلَخَ مِنْهَا . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: This verse was revealed concerning Umayyah bin Abi al-Salt: (Allah Almighty says:) "The one to whom We gave Our signs, but he cast them off."
