Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11015

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I set out from Hims, and at night I stopped at a place in the wilderness (al-Baqi'ah). Then some of the dwellers of the earth (the jinn) came to me. I recited this verse of Surah al-A'raf: "Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth," reciting it to the end of the verse. Then one of those unseen beings said to another: "Now guard him until morning." When morning came, I mounted my riding animal (and departed from there).
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Musayyib bin Wadih, who is da'if (weak), though he has also been declared trustworthy.
